Network Infrastructure Modernization

SIA TechRiga operates a network of 3 offices across Latvia. The existing network infrastructure was running on outdated unmanaged switches and a consumer-grade router, causing frequent dropouts and performance bottlenecks.

Challenge

The client needed to unify three office locations with reliable inter-site connectivity, implement VLAN segmentation to separate production, management and guest traffic, and establish centralized monitoring.

Solution

We deployed Cisco Catalyst switches at the core layer and MikroTik routers at each site with IPsec VPN tunnels. Ubiquiti UniFi access points provide Wi-Fi coverage with WPA3-Enterprise authentication against an internal RADIUS server. Zabbix monitoring covers all network devices with automated alerts.

Results

• Network uptime improved from 94% to 99.8%
• Inter-site latency reduced from 45ms to 8ms
• Full VLAN isolation: production, management, guest, IoT
• Centralized monitoring with response time under 5 minutes
